President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will take part in the G7 Summit, which the French city of Evian is hosting on June 15 -17.
The summit brings together leaders of the seven major industrial nations, along with invited partner countries including Egypt, as well as EU leaders and heads of international organisations.
Discussions will cover global economic growth, ways to address geopolitical crises and their impact on trade, energy, and supply chains, as well as accelerating progress towards sustainable development goals, Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy.
Co-operation in digital transformation and artificial intelligence will also feature on the summit agenda.
This marks Egypt’s second participation in a G7 Summit, following its first appearance in Biarritz, August 2019, when Egypt held the African Union presidency.
Spokesman Al-Shennawy emphasised that Egypt’s participation in the Evian summit further demonstrated the country’s central role in promoting development and stability in the Middle East.
President Sisi will hold bilateral meetings with several world leaders on the sidelines of the summit, including a one-on-one meeting with US President Donald Trump, Al-Shennway noted.
