Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will travel to New Delhi on Friday to lead his country’s delegation to the 18th BRICS summit, hosted by India on September 12-13, the presidency said.
The summit will be held under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Co-operation and Sustainability.”
Sisi will address a closed-door session of BRICS leaders on September 12, followed by an expanded session involving member and partner countries the following day, presidential spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said.
He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with several BRICS leaders and senior officials from international organisations on the sidelines of the summit.
The visit marks Egypt’s third consecutive participation in the grouping since it joined BRICS in January 2024.
