GLASGOW, UK – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will address the high-level segment of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) on the climate change issue.
Sisi will focus on the Egyptian stance towards the climate change issue as being a representative of the African continent and in light of Egypt’s aspiration to host the next session of the Climate Change Summit (COP27).
US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez in addition to many other world leaders and heads of state will address the summit meetings.
China’s President Xi Jinping will address the Cop26 climate conference in the form of a written statement uploaded to the conference’s website.
The participation of the Egyptian president in the UN Climate Summit comes in response to the invitation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, whose country holds the current presidency of the COP26.
