CAIRO – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that the Palestinian cause would remain at the top of Egypt’s priorities.
Sisi’s remarks came in a message delivered by Head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service (GIS) Abbas Kamel to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday, (MENA) reported.
In the message, President Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full backing of the Palestinian people, their inalienable rights and their cause.
Earlier in the day, Kamel leading an Egyptian security delegation left for Israel and the Palestinian territories where he will discuss means to firm up a ceasefire with Palestinian factions.
Egypt brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip, which came into effect on 21 May, ending 11 days of Israeli aggression on the enclave.
