Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a phone call with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the military escalation in the Gaza Strip and its outskirts.
The two sides agreed on the importance of intensifying ongoing efforts to ease tension, protect civilians of both sides and prevent deterioration of security and humanitarian conditions.
Sisi highlighted Egypt’s continued efforts to push towards a truce and exercise highest level of self-restraint to avoid slipping into a bloody cycle that would claim lives of more innocent people and affect the whole region, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmi said.
Sisi stressed the importance of ensuring regular access of humanitarian and relief assistance and services in the Gaza Strip.
He underlined the importance of addressing the root causes of the crisis and seeking to find the proper political approach to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause in accordance with the international references.
