Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak conferred over the phone on Thursday and discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, including the recent escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip.
The two leaders discussed the efforts to reach a ceasefire, protect civilians, and exchange prisoners. President Sisi stressed that it is the responsibility of the international community to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches the people of Gaza and end their continued suffering.
They also discussed the situation in the Red Sea and maritime security. Both leaders stressed the importance of working intensively to avoid the expansion of the conflict in the region and to promote security and stability at the regional level.
