President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday described the unity of Egyptians as the true safeguard of the state, stressing that the cohesion of the people without any discrimination is a valuable asset that must be preserved and never compromised.

During his visit to the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in the New Capital to extend Christmas greetings, President Sisi noted that since 2015 he has made it a tradition to celebrate Christmas with Egypt’s Coptic community, in a step reflecting mutual love and respect among all citizens.

He extended his greetings to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, to the Egyptian Church, to all Copts, and to all Egyptians, wishing that the coming days be filled with joy and celebration.

President Sisi pointed out that the country has gone through difficult challenges over the past years, yet the unity of the people has always been the decisive factor in overcoming them.

He said Egyptians, when united, care for and respect each other, and do not allow any party to undermine their national bond.

Sisi stressed that all Egyptians are one, calling on citizens not to give any chance to entities attempting to sow division or discord, affirming that preserving national cohesion is a responsibility shared by everyone.

He also expressed hope that 2026 would be a better year for Egypt and the world, sending a reassuring message to Egyptians to uphold unity and remain together for the sake of the nation.

This is my message to you and to all of us: any problem, with God’s grace, can be solved. But Egypt will remain safe and at peace, and its people will remain well and at peace. I wish you all a Merry Christmas filled with peace and happiness, and may His Holiness Pope Tawadros also be well, happy, and at peace,” Sisi said during his visit to the Nativity of Christ Cathedral.

“We are very happy to be here with you, and may God always bring joy to you, to Egypt, and to the entire world. Wishing you all well every year,” he added.
