Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed Egypt’s interest in developing ties with Tunisia in a sustainable framework for economic integration and strategic cooperation.
He made the remarks on Wednesday during his talks with his Tunisian counterpart Kais Saied on the sidelines of the Arab summit which is held in Algeria.
Sisi stressed Egypt’s support for the ongoing march of development and reform in Tunisia.
Sisi expressed high appreciation for the historic and deeply-rooted ties between the two sides, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
For his part, Tunisian President Saied underlined his country’s keenness on bolstering cooperation with Egypt for the best interests of both sides.
He highlighted Egypt’s leverage at the regional and international level, expressing interest in benefiting from the successful Egyptian experience in implementing development projects and comprehensive economic reforms.
The Tunisian president also stood on Egypt’s painstaking efforts to combat terrorism and extremism.
The talks also also tackled a host of regional issues of mutual interest.
