Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi emphasized the need for the government to continue its efforts to support the most vulnerable groups, improve targeting processes for the beneficiaries, and continue working on devising the best policies and programs for social protection in coordination with the concerned state authorities.

This is meant to ensure securing the needs of Egyptian families and improve the level and effectiveness of services provided to low and middle-income strata.

The president made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting
with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk.

Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el Shennawy said the meeting reviewed the social protection packages prepared by the government, based on the President’s directives, to continue working on alleviating the financial burdens on citizens.

This is part of the state’s efforts to enhance social protection and improve the mechanisms for delivering these packages to those in need, ensuring that their objectives are achieved.

These packages aim to support families in need and those benefiting from the Takaful and Karama program until the end of June 2025.

Additionally, the anticipated increase in salaries, wages, and pensions will be implemented at the beginning of the new fiscal year in July 2025.

The meeting also touched on the government’s efforts to prepare for the holy month of Ramadan, the status of strategic reserves of goods and food products, and ongoing efforts to increase reserves, particularly of strategic goods.

In this regard, the President gave directives to continue efforts to ensure the safe reserves of various goods. This is to ensure that products are available at affordable prices. As well as organizing markets to support citizens by selling goods at discounted prices. All of these efforts aim to ease the burden on citizens during the holy fasting month.
