Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed on Monday continued commitment to advancing efforts aimed at ending the ongoing war and de-escalating regional tensions.

The president stressed the necessity of coordinated international and regional action to prevent further instability and to safeguard energy markets and global supply chains.

Sisi received on Monday a phone call from Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, which focused on  the latest regional developments.

The president reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of the attacks on Arab states, rejecting any infringement of their sovereignty, stability, or the well-being of their peoples.

He also stressed, Egypt’s unwavering support for its Arab partners, said the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy.

For his part, the Spanish prime minister appreciated Egypt’s efforts, under the leadership of President Sisi, to halt the conflict and contain escalation, Spokesman el-Shennawy said.

He reaffirmed Madrid’s rejection of war and its support for peaceful solutions to international crises.

The two sides agreed to enhance coordination to bring an end to the current escalation and to mitigate its negative repercussions, particularly at the economic level.

The discussions also covered bilateral relations between Egypt and Spain, as President Sisi praising the positive momentum in ties between the two countries, which were elevated to a strategic partnership in 2025, reflecting the depth of their historic relations and opening new horizons for co-operation, particularly in the fields of transport, trade, and investment.

Both sides underscored the importance of implementing the outcomes of the President Sisi’s visit to Spain in February 2025, as well as the agreements reached during the visit of King of Spain to Egypt in September of the same year, in a manner that further strengthens strategic cooperation between the two friendly nations.
