Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Sunday the strategies of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) should focus on ventures that incorporate local technology components, hone industrial abilities and provide job openings.
During a meeting Sunday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Hassan Abdallah, President Sisi instructed providing all required electrical power supplies in this regard, according to the presidential spokesman.
Meantime, the president directed promoting efforts meant to lure further investments to the SCZONE, especially in the field of clean energy production, with a view to maximizing benefit from the Suez Canal’s strategic and vital location to render it a pioneering industry hub in this regard, he added.
The meeting also took up activities and projects in the SCZONE, according to the spokesman.
The president also reviewed the SCZONE’s investment plan, along with ongoing efforts to upgrade local renewable and new energy projects, he said.
A number of ministers, the SCZONE CEO and the head of the armed forces engineering authority took part in the meeting.
