NEW DELHI – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, who is on a trip to India to participate as the chief guest in celebrations of India’s Republic Day on 26 January, said he is constantly working for promoting bilateral ties and maintaining the distinct coordination with the friendly nation.
“I am both overjoyed and proud to visit the friendly state of India to participate as the chief guest in the celebrations of India’s Republic Day, which makes us more determined to foster the distinct bilateral relations and coordination between us,” Sisi said in tweet posted in response to an earlier welcoming tweet by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
“I am also looking forward to fruitful meetings and discussions with my dear friend Modi,” Sisi added.
Earlier in the day, Modi welcomed President Sisi’s historic visit.
“A special welcome to India, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Your historic visit to India as the chief guest of our Republic Day celebrations is a matter of immense happiness for all Indians. I look forward to our discussions tomorrow,” the Indian premier said on his Twitter account.
