President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Spain and expressed aspiration for continued co-operation between the two countries in all fields and to continue to work closely to strengthen ties, especially in the sectors of healthcare, shipping and renewable energy.
In a phone call he received Tuesday Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, the president highlighted the importance of boosting co-operation with Spain in the tourism field and encouraging Spanish companies to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Egypt, especially in major national projects, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
For his part, the Spanish prime minister expressed his country’s appreciation to Egypt’s leadership and people, stressing the depth of friendship and the extended ties between the two countries, as well as his country’s aspiration to enhance bilateral relations in various fields.
The Spanish prime minister also affirmed his country’s keenness to intensify coordination and consultation with Egypt, praising Egypt’s role in laying the foundations for stability in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region, and its efforts in combating terrorism, extremist ideology and illegal immigration.
President Sisi also reviewed ways to enhance consultation with Spain on regional and international issues of common interest, especially the issue of illegal immigration, the developments of the Palestinian cause as well as the latest developments on the Libya.
The president highlighted efforts in this regard and Egypt’s keenness to achieving political settlements of the various crises in the region.
