President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the government to provide the state support necessary for the expansion of kidney transplant, being the ideal treatment for renal failure. He also called for conducting all the studies and taking the necessary executive steps to expand the organ transplant centres in general throughout the nation.
The president also instructed the government to expand vaccination centres nationwide and establish major centres in each governorate to offer vaccination services to the largest number of citizens.
The president gave these directives during his meeting Tuesday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Finance Dr Mohamed Maeet, Minister of Health and Population Dr Hala Zayed, Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs Major General Mohamed Amin, and Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs and Prevention Dr Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
He added that the meeting reviewed the state’s efforts to import vaccines approved by the World Health Organisation, as well as the ongoing executive steps to start the local manufacture of “Sinovac” vaccine in partnership with a Chinese firm and through the Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines “Vaccera”.
In such a concern, the president called for the creation of integrated plan for the developing of “Vaccera” and raising its capabilities to be an additional industrial edifice at par with the world giants in the medical field, Ambassador Radi said.
Egypt recently received the first shipments of raw materials used in manufacturing the vaccine. The company targets to produce 40 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine during the coming period.
The implementation position of the Egyptian Centre for Disease Control was also reviewed during the meeting.
The centre would include a research and development unit, training centres, a number of specialised clinics for disease control, and various specialised laboratories, Ambassador Radi said, adding that it would employ advanced technology to discover and control infectious and non-communicable diseases, as well as the early detection of public health threats.
