In light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s response to the recommendations of the National Dialogue in the provisional detention file, Egypt’s Supreme State Security Prosecution ordered Thursday the release of 151 pretrial detainees pending investigation in various cases.
According to the prosecution’s statement, the decision complies with the directives of Prosecutor General Mohamed Shawki for all prosecution offices to periodically review the legal status of all pretrial detainees.
