President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
President Sisi reiterated Egypt’s unequivocal condemnation of the Iranian attacks against Kuwait, which he termed as “a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability”, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said.
President Sisi also stressed Egypt’s firm rejection of any attempt to undermine Kuwait’s sovereignty or jeopardise its security and stability.
The president reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Kuwait, as well as support for all measures it takes to safeguard its security and protect the interests of its people.
He commended the Emir’s prudent leadership in managing the current regional circumstances and Kuwait’s commitment to avoiding further regional escalation, the spokesman said.
President Sisi stressed also that the security of Kuwait and all Arab states is an integral part of Egypt’s national security, highlighting Egypt’s ongoing efforts to contain regional tensions and resolve crises through peaceful means.
For his part, Kuwait’s Emir lauded Egypt’s steadfast support for the security and stability of Arab states and underscored the importance of maintaining close consultation and co-ordination between the two countries to preserve regional peace and stability and address shared challenges, El-Shennawy noted.
The Emir also voiced appreciation for Egypt’s support for Kuwait amid the current regional situation and praised Cairo’s efforts to contain tensions across the Middle East.
