President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi received Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Cairo on Thursday.
The Presidency spokesman Mohamed El‑Shenawy said President Sisi conveyed greetings to the Emir of Qatar Tamimbin Hamad Al‑Thani, and praised the progress in Egypt–Qatar relations. He expressed Egypt’s readiness to facilitate increased Qatari investments and build on the outcomes of the joint high committee to expand cooperation in political, trade and investment sectors.
Sheikh Mohammed relayed Emir Tamim’s appreciation of Egypt’s role and affirmed Qatar’s commitment to advancing relations between both countries.
The talks also addressed regional developments, with President Sisi stressing the need to contain current escalation and its economic repercussions, reiterating Egypt’s support for the sovereignty and security of Qatar and all Arab states.
Both sides reviewed coordination on implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement, emphasising the importance of all parties honouring commitments under the plan brokered by US President Donald Trump. They agreed to continue joint efforts to stabilise Gaza, facilitate humanitarian aid, and support early recovery and reconstruction.
This meeting highlighted Sisi’s role in regional diplomacy, economic partnership with Qatar, and efforts to stabilise Gaza.
