The Health Ministry has been on high alert to provide medical care for people fleeing the fighting in Sudan to Egypt, said spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar Tuesday.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed the health ministry to raise to maximum the level of readiness at all border crossings with Sudan to provide the displaced people with medicines and medical supplies, Abdel Ghaffar said in a phone-in show on DMC channel.
The Ministry of Health has increased to 10 the number of medical clinics at the terminals, with medical teams available to deal with any suspected infections, he added.
