Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi opened on Saturday the third round of Our Heritage Exhibition for handicrafts and heritage products at Egypt international exhibition center.
While touring a number of displayed products, Sisi vowed to support this industry so as to make a great leap in this sector.
As many as 1,500 local exhibitors nationwide are participating in this year’s edition, said Minister of Trade and Industry Nivine Gamea.
She added the exhibition also includes pavilions to display products from the UAE, Jordan and Sudan.
The exhibition is organized by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency and shows traditional art products and handicrafts from different Egyptian governorates. It lasts until October 15.
The exhibition, which is being held for the third year, targets providing all means of support for heritage industries and the handicrafts sector, to expand the promotion of ancient Egyptian arts and to make their products available at commercial prices through the exhibition to encourage their spread and increase their distinctive production.

President Sisi inspected on Saturday the pavilions of the UAE, Jordan and Sudan at the Torathna (Our Heritage) exhibition for handicrafts and heritage products at the Egyptian international exhibition center.
Earlier in the day, the president opened the third edition of the exhibition, which sees the participation of 1,500 local exhibitors.

Sisi hands out prizes to best 3 handicraft projects
President handed out on Saturday prizes to the best three handicraft projects on the sidelines of the Torathna (Our Heritage) exhibition for handicrafts and heritage products at the Egyptian international exhibition center.
A woman from Fayyoum Governorate gained the first prize, worth EGP 50,000, while another one, from Sohag Governorate, won the second prize, worth EGP 30,000 , where the president directed to increase the amount of the second prize, as the winner is giving care to eight children.
A man from Gharbiya Governorate copped the third prize.
