Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that the 6th October War Victory will remain a watershed in our contemporary history.
“The glorious October war will remain a watershed and defining moment in our contemporary history. Our Armed Forces restored the honour and glory of the homeland and ended the occupation of its lands,” Sisi said on his official page on social networking websites on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of October War.
“Today, as we are celebrating the 49th anniversary of this great victory.. I extend my greetings to the Egyptian people and our brave Armed Forces for their bravery and heroism.”
The president paid tribute to Egyptian martyrs who made great sacrifices in this victory, reiterating appreciation for late President Anwar El Sadat for courageously taking the decision to go into war and achieve victory.
The victory demonstrated Egyptians’ love for their homeland and their constant willingness to sacrifice their souls in defense of its soil, he said.
