President Abdel Fattah el Sisi Friday mourned an Egyptian woman who donated her earring to the Long Live Egypt Fund six years ago.
Zeinab Moustafa made headlines in 2014 when she decided to donate the little she had to the fund, which helps the poor around the nation.
The nonagenarian from the Nile Delta Governorate of Daqahlia was honoured by President Sisi who received her at the Presidential Palace in Cairo. She died yesterday.
President Sisi described Zeinab, who died on Friday, as a “role model” for Egyptian women for sacrificing their most precious possessions for their country.
“This woman set an example of patriotism and loyalty to her country,” the president tweeted.
