The two leaders also reviewed African co-operation frameworks, including within the African Union, and stressed joint coordination to safeguard continental security and stability. They highlighted the need for international support to help African states address climate change, noting Egypt and Madagascar are among the most affected.

At a joint press conference, President Sisi said: “We agreed to build on our countries’ strengths, seize investment opportunities and enhance economic and trade relations, benefiting from our shared COMESA membership.” He welcomed Madagascar’s intention to establish a resident embassy in Cairo, describing it as a step that will deepen bilateral engagement.
