Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met in Alamein with Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, Prime Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity, in the presence of senior Egyptian and Libyan officials.
Presidential spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said President Sisi welcomed the visit, stressing the historic bonds binding Egypt and Libya and Egypt’s consistent support for Libya’s stability and unity.
The talks focused on expanding co-operation in electricity, energy, infrastructure, reconstruction and boosting trade and investment.
Prime Minister Dbeibah expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support for Libya’s security and development, highlighting the importance of advancing bilateral relations across priority sectors.
The meeting also addressed regional and international developments, with both sides agreeing to intensify consultation and coordination to safeguard regional peace and stability.
The two sides underscored the importance of resolving conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means, reinforcing joint efforts to confront shared challenges.
