President Abdel Fattah El Sisi lauded on Thursday the heroic performance of the national handball team in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 semi-final match against France.
In a post on his social media accounts, President Sisi said: “Praise and greetings be to our national handball team for their heroic and honourable performance in the semi-final match against France, as they showed the perfect example of the spirit of strength and determination until the last moment of the match.
“Egypt is proud of your great achievement, your mighty determination and your heroic performance,” the president also said.
In this respect, I reiterate my full and comprehensive support to Egyptian sports and youth, the president added.
“Thank you…you have honored us and made us happy,” he concluded.
Egypt’s handball team lost 27-23 to France and will face Spain for the bronze.
