President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call on Monday from King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, who expressed solidarity with Egypt following the earthquake earlier in the day and affirmed Bahrain’s support in facing challenges. President Sisi conveyed appreciation for the gesture, highlighting the depth of bilateral ties and shared positions on regional issues.
The President reiterated Egypt’s commitment to supporting Bahrain, condemning recent Iranian attacks on its sovereignty and stability, and commending the measures taken by the Bahraini leadership to safeguard national security.
King Hamad praised Egypt’s steadfast stance in backing Bahrain and its solidarity with Gulf states amid regional military tensions, stressing Bahrain’s efforts to achieve peace and sustainable political solutions. He underlined Egypt’s pivotal role at regional and international levels.
The leaders also reviewed bilateral relations, confirming continued work to implement outcomes of Crown Prince Salman’s visit to Egypt in September 2025 and the second session of the joint governmental committee in February 2025. Sisi noted Egypt’s appreciation for the care extended to its expatriate community in Bahrain and their contributions to the kingdom’s development.
