Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Sunday that the glorious July 23 Revolution has established the first republic 70 years ago and went on to build a “new Egypt”, saying the revolution has become a source of inspiration for national liberation all over the world.

In a nationwide on the occasion of July 23 Revolution anniversary, Sisi greeted the Egyptian people on this great occasion, saying this day reminds us of the struggle of many generations who just wanted a better future free of colonialism.

The President also lauded great sacrifices made by the Egyptian people to have a free dignified country.

He paid tribute to late president Mohamed Naguib who assumed responsibility at a precise moment in the history of the nation. Sisi also saluted late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat who paid his life a dear price for Egypt’s dignity and future.

Now after 70 years since the establishment of the first republic and following the severe challenges and difficult changes the country passed through especially from 2011 to 2014, we had to think seriously about the future, and about the new republic and how it is time for Egypt to regain its deserved position among nations, the President said.

Sisi said the new republic is like its predecessor based on preserving and protecting homeland amidst an international and regional reality whose complexity and turbulence is increasing in an unprecedented way.

He said the new republic is the result of an unprecedented phase in the history of Egypt, a phase that is marred by difficulties and challenges, stressing that Egyptians are now well aware that a safe and stable homeland is a top priority and that social and economic development is now a necessity and not a luxury anymore.

He said the new republic seeks to provide equal job opportunities for all Egyptians and secure a decent life for this generation and generations to come.

Egyptians should be proud of what they have achieved since independence, Sisi said, stressing that the country’s national march is moving forward despite difficulties and challenges.

Sisi said the great Egyptian people have endured a lot and set an example in patience and steadfastness in crises, promising the Egyptians that the State will exert utmost effort to provide more job opportunities, increase income of citizens, and set new tracks for the development of economy to cope up with changes of current age and to materialize the aspirations of Egyptians of a new better future.
