Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Thursday a phone call from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to discuss overall bilateral relations between the two countries and exchange of views on a number of international issues of common interest, especially co-operation in the climate change file in light of the upcoming global climate summit to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next November.
President Sisi praised efforts of the British prime minister during his tenure to develop bilateral relations between Egypt and Britain in all fields. The President stressed that Egypt looks forward to continuing joint efforts to enhance bilateral co-operation during the coming period.
For his part, Prime Minister. Johnson valued the close ties between Egypt and Britain and lauded the development of relations between the two countries. He stressed that Egypt, under the leadership of President Sisi, is an important partner for Britain in the Middle East, the Mediterranean basin and the African continent.
He also highlighted Britain’s keenness to support the ambitious measures Egypt is taking in pursuit of comprehensive development, especially through increasing investments, transferring expertise and technology, and localising industry.
