President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call on Thursday from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss bilateral relations and key regional and international developments.
Presidency Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy said the two leaders reviewed the overall state of Egypt-Italy relations, with President Sisi expressing appreciation for the long-standing ties between the two countries.
He stressed the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen their close partnership, particularly in trade and investment, in a way that serves their shared interests.
The president also called for increased Italian investment in the Egyptian market, highlighting the promising opportunities available across various sectors.
For her part, Prime Minister Meloni agreed on the importance of further developing the distinguished relationship between Egypt and Italy in all fields, including trade and investment.
She also underscored the need for continued coordination in addressing illegal migration.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues, reaffirming the importance of preventing further escalation and resolving conflicts through peaceful means.
Both sides agreed to continue working to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance political consultation between Egypt and Italy in support of regional peace and stability.
Meloni also expressed her hope to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity.
