Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted on Wednesday the deep-rooted relations between Egypt and Bahrain.
This came during his meeting with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa in Manama, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, Sisi stressed Egypt’s keenness to boost co-operation and coordination for the interests of the two peoples and Arab nation through intensifying meetings between the Egyptian and Bahraini officials.
While Khalifa welcomed Sisi in Bahrain and asserted Bahrain’s government and people’s appreciation to the distinguished relations with Egypt and its people. He also hailed Egypt’s strategic and leading role under the President Sisi to protect Arab national security and defending Arab nation issues.
The two leaders also discussed issues concerning holding the summit that will gather the leaders of the Gulf states, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and US.
They also witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understandings in the fields of economic, scientific and technology co-operation, investment, legal and judicial co-operation, exports, organising fairs, environment protection, education, marine and aerial shipping services and co-operation between Al Asimah and Cairo governorates.
