President Abdel Fattah El Sisi discussed yesterday progress in the implementation of a number of petroleum sector projects during a meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Petroleum Tarek el-Mulla, Minister of Finance Mohamed Maeet, Minister of Trade and Industry Neveen Gamea and Presidential Advisor for Strategic National Projects Sherif Ismail.
The meeting also focused on the planned expansion of natural gas delivery to residential areas and industrial facilities, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
The president instructed the government officials concerned to maintain the delivery of natural gas to residential areas and to new cities and urban communities, Ambassador Radi said.
He added that the president also directed the government to increase the number of gas fueling stations on new roads and road axis nationwide.
The president directed government officials to ease the delivery of natural gas to citizens around Egypt, Ambassador Radi said.
The president discussed the national strategy to meet the local needs of petroleum products.
He also discussed efforts to narrow the gap between production and consumption of petroleum products in the light of a plan that contains short-term and long-term goals that aims to overhaul petroleum product distribution and handling system.
