President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated Saturday Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah on winning the confidence of the Libyan parliament.

This is an important and historical milestone on the road to settling the Libyan crisis, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi quoted President Sisi as telling the Libyan premier.

He expressed confidence in Mr. Dbeibah’s ability to manage the transitional phase in Libya, achieve comprehensive reconciliation among Libyans and unify the Arab country’s institutions in preparation for holding national elections in December this year.

President Sisi also underscored Egypt’s full support to Mr. Dbeibah’s government.

Egypt is ready, President Sisi said, to roll out its expertise in all fields to help the Libyans achieve political stability in their country.

The Egyptian leader noted that Egypt is also ready to participate in the implementation of development projects of priority for the Libyan people, Ambassador Radi said.

Prime Minister Dbeibah, for his part, expressed gratitude to President Sisi.

He said he appreciated Egypt’s sincere role and efforts for settling the Libyan crisis.

Prime Minister Dbeibah also highlighted the peculiarity of relations between Egypt and Libya as well as historical ties between the peoples of both countries.

He said his government is keen on pushing cooperation relations, consultations and coordination with Egypt forward.
