President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held talks on the phone Saturday with the Head of Libya’s Presidential Council Mohamed al-Menfi.
The president applauded the formation of a new executive power in Libya.
He also congratulated Mr. al-Menfi on the success of the new government in Libya in winning the confidence of the Libyan parliament.
There is an urgent need, President Sisi said, for building on these positive moves.
He added that this could be done by forging ahead with finding a political settlement to the conflict in Libya and pushing Libyan-Libyan dialogue forward in ways that prevent foreign interference in the affairs of the Arab country.
Mr. al-Menfi, for his part, expressed gratitude for Egypt’s sincere efforts for bringing security and stability back to Libya.
These efforts, he said, come within the special nature of relations between Egypt and Libya at the level of governments and the level of peoples.
Al-Menfi said the new executive power in Libya would move ahead with enhancing brotherly relations with Egypt in ways that serve the interests of Egypt and Libya and their peoples
