Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call from his US counterpart Joe Biden to discuss the tense regional situation and the military escalation in the Gaza Strip.
They agreed on the need to contain the current hazardous situation to prevent the expansion of conflict and threats to regional security and stability, the presidential spokesman said Monday.
Sisi and Biden also agreed that protecting civilians and delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza are top priorities, the spokesman added.
They also talked about efforts to revive the peace process and will continue coordinating stances in this regard, he noted.
