Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Saturday attended the signing ceremony of a number of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between the two countries in various domains.
The signing ceremony included sealing an MoU in the fields of youth and sports. The MoU was signed by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, representing the Egyptian side, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, representing his country.
Egypt and Azerbaijan signed an MoU on friendship and cooperation between Cairo governorate and the Executive Power of Baku City. The memo was signed by Shoukry and his Azerbaijani counterpart Bayramov.
The two sides signed a memo on cooperation in the domains of electricity and renewable energy between Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan. The MoU was signed by Shoukry and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov.
Also, Egypt and Azerbaijan signed a joint plan of action for cooperation between the Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO). The agreement was signed by Shoukry and Mikayil Jabbarov, the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan.
Egypt and of Azerbaijan signed a protocol of intentions on cooperation between the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan. The protocol was signed by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Molla, representing the Egyptian side, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of the Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, representing his country.
Meanwhile, the two countries sealed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in exchanging expertise between Egypt’s Ministry of International Cooperation and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy. The memo was signed by Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Rania al Mashaat, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of the Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
Another MoU was also sealed on cooperation in the domain of information technology and communications between Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The deal was signed by Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev.
