The official spokesperson for the Presidency said that President Sisi affirmed the special historical relations and deep people-to-people ties between Egypt and Jordan, stressing that the security of the Kingdom of Jordan is an integral part of Egypt’s national security, and that Egypt categorically rejects and condemns the criminal Iranian attacks that targeted Jordan and a number of sister nations. 

The President also affirmed Egypt’s full support for all measures taken by the wise Jordanian leadership to protect the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom and safeguard the well-being of its people. 

President Sisi underscored the importance of concerted international and regional efforts to reach political solutions to the ongoing crisis in the region, to achieve deescalate the situation and restore security and stability, and to avoid the dire consequences of the ongoing tension. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s solidarity with Jordan in confronting all forms of terrorism and extremism.

For his part, King Abdullah expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s and President Sisi’s support for support for Jordan in facing challenges, emphasising the shared history and close ties between the two countries in various fields, as well as the deep bonds between the two brotherly peoples. King Abdullah also valued President Sisi’s vision, which is based on upholding the principles of international law and good neighborliness, and working toward a peaceful and comprehensive resolution to the regional tensions.

The leaders also discussed the Palestinian issue, reiterating the need for reaching a just and comprehensive settlement based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution. Both leaders expressed rejection of the escalating Israeli actions in the West Bank and warned against extremist practices in Jerusalem. President Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast support for Jordan’s historic Hashemite custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, stressing the importance of continued institutional coordination between Cairo and Amman to confront shared challenges.
