Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Sunday a phone call from his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas.
The two presidents discussed the state of security and military escalation on the Palestinian-Israeli level.
They issued warnings about the peril of the absence of a political horizon and the possibility of the current situation deteriorating in a way that affects both the security and stability of the region as well as the lives of people.
The two presidents also expressed deep concern about the continuation of the current escalation and the accompanying severe deterioration of the security and humanitarian conditions.
They stressed that achieving sustainable stability in the region requires reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause on the basis of the two-state solution in accordance with the terms of reference of international legitimacy.
