State Information Service (SIS) Chairman Ambassador Alaa Youssef on Tuesday received Mohamed Moussa Emara, chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ETQAAN).
The two discussed co-operation in raising awareness of the authority’s mandate and achievements, and in promoting a culture of quality and accreditation.
The meeting was attended by ETQAAN vice-chairmen Ibrahim Fares and Ibrahim Lotfy, and Iman Ibrahim, director of the chairman’s office.
Discussions focused on leveraging SIS’s capabilities and its media centres across Egypt’s governorates to support awareness-raising efforts.
Youssef underscored SIS’s strong focus on human capital development and youth capacity-building, including advancing technical and vocational education and training (TVET) as a key pathway to preparing young people for the labour market.
He commended ETQAAN’s national role in ensuring the quality and accreditation of TVET institutions and programmes, affirming SIS’s readiness to support the production and dissemination of informational materials in foreign languages on the authority’s efforts to establish a national quality and accreditation system.
He also highlighted the importance of presenting these efforts to foreign media outlets and international correspondents in Egypt, thereby strengthening ETQAAN’s regional and international profile.
For his part, the ETQAAN chairman reviewed the authority’s key achievements since its establishment, including developing and launching national accreditation standards for TVET institutions and programmes in line with international benchmarks, establishing accreditation requirements and procedures, and creating a national framework of quality indicators for the TVET system.
He also highlighted initiatives to promote a culture of quality and accreditation and to assist institutions in implementing quality-management and continuous-improvement systems, stressing the importance of co-operation with SIS in this regard.
