Egypt’s Foreign Minister and President-designate of the 2022 UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) Sameh Shoukry held on Tuesday talks with Vice-President of the European Commission (EC) Frans Timmermans on the sidelines of sixth Ministerial on Climate Action (MoCA6) in Sweden.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a tweet that Shoukry also met with Canadian Minister of Environment and Climate Change. Steven Guilbeault.
Shoukry is currently on a visit to the Swedish capital Stockholm to take part in MoCA6.
The Ministerial on Climate Action (MoCA) is an annual meeting attended by ministers and high-level representatives from over 30 countries, including ministers from the G20 and chairs of key party groupings in the UN climate negotiations.
The meetings provide a space for discussions on the implementation of the Paris Agreement through the promotion of ambitious climate action and the successful adoption of technical rules under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
