Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stressed the importance of a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza Strip in order to address the conflict’s roots and launch humanitarian recovery measures.
Shoukry made the remarks on Thursday during a meeting with United States Senate members Senator Chris Van Hollen and Senator Jeff Merkley, currently visiting Egypt.
On X account, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abou Zeid said that negotiations tackled ways of boosting the Egyptian-US partnership.
