CAIRO – With the Greater Bairam just around the corner, a security plan is in place to secure celebrations on the occasion next week, a high-level source told MENA Monday.
Endorsed by Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq, the plan puts the police apparatus on highest alert to guarantee citizens will enjoy the festivities, the source said.
Security elements have been heavily deployed to streets and main squares, as well as public parks, cinemas and Nile anchors that are commonly visited by citizens during the feast, he added.
Fixed and mobile troops can be seen everywhere, as well as policewomen, said the source, noting that rapid intervention forces have been dispatched to all major junctions.
The plan also includes securing vital state facilities to foil any attempts to undermine security across the country, the source added.
