The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) signed a contract with Nafith Egypt for Logistics Services to develop and operate a digitally managed truck yard at Sokhna Port, with investments exceeding LE1 billion.
According to an SCZone statement released on Saturday, the planned 167,000-square-metre facility will have a capacity of up to 1,100 trucks per day when fully operational.
SCZone Chairman Moustafa Shaikhon unveiled ongoing plans to upgrade the infrastructure and superstructure of its ports and modernise port operations in partnership with local and international private-sector companies.
He said the project will strengthen Sokhna Port’s logistics capabilities and support the integration of ports with SCZone’s industrial areas, helping improve supply chains, boost exports, and promote local manufacturing.
Shaikhon added that the new truck management system will use advanced technology and Nafith’s digital platforms to provide real-time planning of truck movements and reduce congestion inside the port.
The project is expected to further strengthen SCZone’s position as an integrated regional and international logistics hub, supported by the strategic location of its ports and Egypt’s trade agreements, which provide access to more than 3.5 billion consumers worldwide.
