Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone Mustafa Shaikhon reiterated on Sunday the SCZone’s keenness to enhance co-operation with Omani economic zones, exchange expertise and support investment opportunities and economic integration between Egypt and Oman.
Shaikhon made the remarks during his meeting at the authority’s headquarters in the New Capital with a high-level Omani delegation headed by Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) Qais bin Mohamed Al Yousef.
Omani Ambassador to Egypt Abdullah bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Vice Chairman of the SCZone for the Northern Region Captain Mohammed Ibrahim and senior officials from both sides, including representatives of Duqm, Madayn, Salalah Free Zone and Khazaen Economic City attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Shaikhon highlighted the SCZone’s integrated industrial zones and ports, infrastructure, investment incentives, one-stop-shop services and strategic location, supported by Egypt’s free trade agreements and access to regional and international markets.
He stressed that the SCZone treats investors as partners by addressing their needs, overcoming challenges and supporting sustainable expansion, while welcoming Omani expertise in developing and managing economic zones.
For his part, OPAZ Chairman Al Yousef said the visit seeks to exchange expertise, enhance investment and establish joint projects.
He called for identifying priority sectors and developing practical recommendations for cooperation.
Meanwhile, Omani Ambassador Al Rahbi praised the deepening Egyptian-Omani relations and the potential to expand trade and joint investment.
