Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), Walid Gamal El-Din, signed a cooperation protocol on Tuesday with the General Authority for the Gargoub Special Economic Zone to strengthen partnership between the two sides and maximise the benefits of Egypt’s special economic zones in attracting investment.
The protocol is also meant to facilitate the exchange of technical, administrative, organisational and human expertise, in addition to coordinating on joint projects to support Egypt’s sustainable development goals.
Gamal El-Din said the SCZone is seeking to cooperate with the promising Gargoub Economic Zone by transferring its successful experience in strengthening its global position as an industrial, logistics and services hub.
He noted that the integration of industrial zones with affiliated seaports has helped support global supply chains, create jobs for Egyptian youth, localise industry and transfer technology.
He added that the SCZone has worked to improve the business environment through a fully digitalised one-stop-shop system and international promotional campaigns showcasing investment opportunities across 21 industrial, logistics and service sectors.
He described the protocol as a new starting point for broader coordination and cooperation between the two economic zones in line with the state’s development vision.
