South Korean Ambassador in Cairo Hong Jin Wook said on Monday that Egypt became an important partner for South Korean official development assistance (ODA).
During his meeting with Egypt’s International Cooperation Minister Rania Al-Mashat to discuss outcomes of development cooperation this year, Jin Wook noted that the volume of development cooperation is increasing, including a $ 1 billion memorandum of understanding from the Korea Economic Development Co-operation Fund (EDCF) and additional $460 million from EDCF to fund the manufacture of coaches of Cairo Metro.
He expressed his satisfaction at the success of bilateral development cooperation because it contributes to boosting Egypt’s economic development and improving the quality of Egyptians’ life.
Both sides agreed on exploring more development projects in various domains.
