Rapid Intervention Teams of the Ministry of Social Solidarity handled 250 cases during the first half of August, including homeless children and adults, humanitarian cases, and people requiring protection and care.

The measures are in implementation of Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsi’s directives to intensify field interventions and respond swiftly to humanitarian reports.

Working around the clock in coordination with relevant authorities, the teams provide health, social and psychological care, reunite citizens with their families where possible, or provide safe institutional accommodation.

In Cairo, the central team assisted a 41-year-old man who had been homeless for six months following his mother’s death and eviction over accumulated debts, helping him complete official documents.

It also provided safe accommodation for a young woman seeking to resume her education after being expelled from school amid family instability.

In Giza, a 76-year-old woman found outside the Ministry was transferred to a care institution after being abandoned by her children and found unable to care for herself due to age-related illnesses.

Meanwhile, in Gharbia, a 16-year-old girl and her 12-year-old sister were provided protection.

In coordination with the Public Prosecution, the elder girl was returned to her father after he pledged proper care, while separate family accommodation was arranged and their situation will be monitored.

The ministry affirmed that the teams will continue responding immediately to reports and following cases until the appropriate intervention is secured, while preserving the dignity of vulnerable groups.

Citizens can report homeless children, elderly people or anyone at risk through hotlines 16429, 16528 and 19828, or WhatsApp 01557582104, providing the location to facilitate rapid intervention.
