The States of the R4 Group, comprising the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of Türkiye, strongly condemn the continued hostile attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly the heinous strikes targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
These attacks, which have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to civilian infrastructure and facilities, constitute a grave violation of international law and a serious threat to regional security and stability, the group said in a joint statement.
The R4 Group underscores that such acts represent a flagrant violation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, directly endangering its national security and the safety of civilians, the statement read.
The group stresses that this dangerous escalation is wholly unacceptable and cannot be justified under any circumstances.
Reaffirming their unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the R4 states express their full support for all legitimate measures undertaken by the Kingdom, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and international law, to repel these attacks, address the sources of the threat, prevent further aggression and safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of its citizens and residents.
The R4 Group holds the Houthi militia fully accountable for the consequences of these attacks and any resulting repercussions that may undermine regional and international peace and security.
The group calls for the immediate and unconditional cessation of all such hostile acts and urges an end to any actions that threaten civilian lives, undermine the Kingdom’s security or further destabilise the region.
