CAIRO- Prosecutor General Hamada El Sawy asserted that judicial relations between Egypt and Russia prosecutions are emanating from their specialization and authority in the service of justice and protection of social rights.
El Sawy’s remarks were made during his meeting on Thursday with Russian Prosecuor General Igor Viktorovich Krasnov and his accompanying judicial delegation.
The Egyptian prosecutor noted that bilateral relations in the judicial field are extended and effective, pointing out to the signing of a memorandum of understanding signed between the two prosecution offices in July 2016.
He also reviewed the judicial cooperation between the two sides and the holding of a number of roundtable discussions remotely to address a set of issues of common interest especially the combat of e-crimes, cyber crimes, the use of e-finance in criminal purposes as well as terrorism combat.
El Sawy also highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise between the two sides in investigating the various crimes especially the information technology crimes, trans-border aggression as well as technical expertise and mutual training.
Krasnov, for his part, voiced happiness over meeting with his Egyptian counterpart and commended the constructive interaction between the two sides since the signing of a judicial cooperation agreement in Saint Petersburg last year.
