The government is keen to promote investment in various sectors by developing facilities to support the business community.
This statement by Egypt’s Minister of Finance Mohamed Maeet came during his meeting with Italian Ambassador in Cairo Michael Caroni yesterday.
The Egyptian government recently launched the Golden Licence and the State Ownership Policy to boost private sector participation in development projects, the minister said.
Egypt is offering new tax incentives to attract local and foreign investors in a bid to turn this country into a regional and international centre for production and re-export, the minister added.
The government is keen to increase investment from Italy, which is considered an important economic partner to Egypt, Maeet said.
Maeet pointed to the success of co-operation between the customs authorties of Italy and Egypt.
For his part, the Italian ambassador in Cairo voiced his country’s keenness to exchange expertise with Egypt in various fields and boost co-operation with Egypt in the field of customs.
