The sustainable development plan must to be implemented through partnership between governments, private sector and civil society.

This statement by Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbag came during the 5th Fingerprint Summit themed ‘The First Forum to Promote Investment Opportunities for the Public and Private Sectors’.
The event is being held under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.

Planning Minister Hala Saeed and Arab League Assistant Secretary General Haifa Abou Ghazaleh attended the summit.
This event comes at a time when the government is exerting considerable effort to promote government investment opportunities, the minister said.

El-Qabbag said her ministry is incentivising investment opportunities through partnerships with the private and government sectors and the civil society organisations.
Civil society has multiple roles with the government to develop local communities, reduce poverty and unemployment, and promote social investments and the culture of saving, el-Qabbag added.

She referred to the key role played by co-operatives, which number 484 nationwide and business volume exceeding LE70 billion.
Abou Ghazaleh said the AL has launched the document ‘Arab decade of non-governmental organizations 2016-2026’ to create a suitable climate for successful partnership between civil society organisations, Arab governments, international and regional organisations to empower civil society’s role in realising sustainable development goals.
