President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said in a post on his official Facebook account that he had followed, in the early hours of the morning, the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He described the development as a source of “great relief to millions of peace-loving people around the world,” expressing hope that it would lead to a permanent agreement to end conflict in the region, restore security and stability, and fulfil the aspirations of its peoples for development and prosperity.
President Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full and unconditional support for the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, as well as Jordan and Iraq, during the current circumstances.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that any forthcoming agreement takes into account their legitimate security concerns and requirements.
He also expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the stance of President Donald Trump, noting that the decision reflects a commitment to reason and the values of peace.
The President called on all parties to engage seriously in negotiations aimed at achieving lasting peace and peaceful coexistence among the peoples of the region and the world. He affirmed that Egypt—its leadership, government, and people—will continue to support the security, stability, and prosperity of Gulf states, as well as Iraq and Jordan.
President Sisi concluded by reaffirming his commitment to exert every sincere effort to end conflicts and establish a just and comprehensive peace, both regionally and globally.
